There is no doubt in my mind Bernie would make an excellent teacher or facilitator in any learning environment.

Bernie is excellent at facilitating strategy planning and at providing tools to ensure that the plan is carried out. His most valuable skill is to be able to develop a team environment that furthers the success of the strategic plan.

Bernie built a capable team of system engineers and navigated them through a tough technical problem involving multiple contractors, two continents and seven time zones.

Bernie is the type of person who would be an asset to any organisation. When Bernie is given a task, even if the objectives are not very clear, he has the ability to sort through the weeds, determine what needs to be done and then does it to a very high standard. Bernie is a people person and uses this skill to positively influence those around him. Bernie is always willing to learn and actively solicits feedback. He is not afraid of being told that he can improve, and uses that feedback constructively for improvement.

Bernie comes to D4C as a strategic business coach with years of experience personally consulting as Practical Managers Inc. His emphasis on productivity, leadership, and project management has been a guiding light in the creation of D4C’s internal process guide. With Bernie’s expertise and know-how surrounding efficiency and effectiveness, D4C clients can ensure the work we do for them is always timely, results-driven, and of first-rate caliber. When it comes to business execution, Bernie truly wields the sword and wears the mask. However, Bernie’s no non-sense approach to business is a stark contrast to his  schoolgirl giggling which can occasionally be heard coming from the D4C studio during peak coffee hours…

Bernie’s strong leadership abilities and uncanny sense of the right thing to do have made him one of General Dynamics’ most valued team leads. This leadership, coupled with a strong work ethic has made him a lifesaver on more than just a few occasions. It has been remarked at multiple milestones that we need less committees and more Bernies.

Whilst I did not report directly to Bernie, I had the pleasure of working with him and often seeking his support, guidance and wisdom in relation to the projects I was undertaking. I could always call on his technical expertise and experience to support a course of action that ultimately assisted in fulfilling the requirements of our customer.

Bernie’s depth of experience and flexible work style allowed him to meet the challenge of working with my executive team as we went through a significant business transition the past 2+ years. We hired Bernie to coach us through a transition time in one of our operating companies where we were experiencing challenges with planning, execution and team building during succession planning. Bernie’s perceptions, patience, innovation, and creativity were of great assistance. He was able to work with many different personality types. Bernie helped me navigate the early stages of my self-care and narrative coaching business and his advice was priceless. During Bernie’s tenure as the System Release Manager, he worked very hard to ensure that the intergroup coordination of releases proceeded flawlessly. Bernie’s internal and external customers were extremely satisfied with the way the integration process and delivery was managed. As well, communications amongst the development, systems engineering and test groups was improved significantly and as a result our deliveries were not only on time but also of a very high quality.

Bernie is a superstar in his field. His military background makes him organised, efficient and highly effective. Centrex was under his wing for two years. In those two years he had instilled many systems and processes into our culture. We are still implementing them to this day. I would recommend Bernie as a business consultant any day of the week.

Bernie is a conscious, collaborative and very capable business advisor, coach and facilitator whom I have had the pleasure to work with. Someone I’d want on my team to help us do the right things and to do them right.
