What is Business Coaching?
Coaching is for those who want guidance, encouragement, inspiration, and challenge. It is an on-going dialogue between you and a coach toward an agreed goal.
We’ll pay attention to focus, communications, or relationships and influence. You are basically well-adjusted, emotionally healthy, functioning effectively, and wanting to make changes in your life.
Coaching is most effective when both parties are honest and straightforward with each other, and when the goals and measures of progress are agreed together. It involves questioning, brainstorming, goals and values clarification, self-study, self-examination, directed reading, discussion, goal-setting, identifying plans of action, strategies for changing behaviour, and being held accountable.
Topics can include:
- build relationships and influence
- coach, mentor, give feedback, and delegate
- build teams
- resolve conflicts and hold crucial conversations
- set goals and get accountability
- plan and execute projects
- perform risk management & competitive analysis
- make effective presentations
- manage your calendar and priorities
- use e-mail and meetings effectively
Time and Place, Delivery, and Billing
Sessions will take place regularly for at least an hour at a mutually agreed time and place. In the first session we’ll agree on a schedule, and share details of the issues you’d like to explore. Billing is rounded up to the nearest tenth of an hour, minimum one hour starting at the agreed time. Payment is due at the end of each session unless previous arrangements are made. Defaulting on less that 24 hours notice will result in a one hour billing.
Coaching takes place in-person in the Calgary area, by video (Skype) or by telephone. Telephone and email support are also available. Coaching is a confidential relationship except where such confidentiality is illegal.
